I can’t believe that 2020 is over! Let me think, we went into lockdown/quarantine since about March, and literally the whole rest of the year we have been quarantined!! Easter did not feel like Easter. Christmas felt different too. Thanksgiving was lonely, not to mention it was hard to give thanks because many people lost their loved ones. The economy shut down, the education system changed (thankfully not for me), and shopping habits changed. More importantly, the rich became richer, and the poor became poorer. Oh, and by the way, I didn’t buy anything except for more baking gadgets this whole year because I’ve started to bake more to keep myself company. I also spent more time studying because I was busier this year. I also deleted a bunch of toxic, distracting social media apps that were eating up my time. Overall, this year felt very lonely and out-of-place.
Goals I had for 2020:
- 1,000-3,000 subscribers
- 100 followers on Instagram
- Read more books
3,000 subscribers:
This year I started out intending to reach 3,000 subscribers. At the moment, I have almost 500. I’m still really hoping to at least hit 500 subs before the end of the year, but I’m nowhere near my goal. I would even consider 1,000 subscribers. However, considering where I was at the beginning of 2020, I’ve grown. I believe that I had around 200, almost 300.
100 followers:
Another goal was to reach 100 followers on Instagram. At the moment, I have about 80, so I’m almost there, and it would be great if I could make that goal.
Overview: I’m quite disappointed with where I am right now. Still, besides all of the numbers, my videos are very different from how they were at the beginning of 2020. The editing of the videos, style, angles, and length of the videos are all improved. I try to make my videos a little bit longer now so that you can see each step of the process in my recipes. The lighting and camera quality are also much better.
Logically, that would get my videos more views and more subscribers. However, my average views on videos are still not that many. I’m hoping to get more active participation in my videos, meaning likes, comments, feedback, questions, etc.
Read more books:
I did have a goal to read more books this year or read a book a month. I’m pleased about this one because I achieved my goal! I didn’t exactly read a book a month, but after finishing the book I’m reading right now, I will have completed 12 books.
A lot of my reading happened over the summer. I also managed to score a couple of diplomas during the summer, which I’m happy about.
